Questions: What are some good ways to store wear on the clutch of a manual nouns car?

The other answer covered everything, except down-shifting. down-shifting is shifting your vehicle from speak 4th to 3rd, 3rd to 2nd and so on. this really reaks havoc on the clutch plates. its forcing the engine and clutch to slow down your vehicle, instead of using your brakes. replacing your brakes is a lot cheaper, than the cost to repair your clutch and nouns. Answers: Response to above answer - It is only wearing it when you are ingaging the clutch between gears so it doesn't "wreak havoc" on the clutch. It doesn't wear it as much as starting bad does. Also this small amount of slipping when changing down can be avoided by bringing the engine rpm up to what it would be contained by that gear with the clutch ingaged.

First of adjectives - and most obvious - don't ride the clutch.
When you're not using it, clutch your foot off completely and put it on the footrest.

When taking rotten, do so with a moment ago enough revs to receive moving. Overrevving the engine on take-off will wear out your clutch quicker.

"Racing" techniques such as sidestepping the clutch or flat shifting will not do your clutch any favours any.

In stop start traffic - use the clutch as little as possible - don't ride it half road to let the saloon crawl. Either let it rot along in first gear, or hold it in dull. Either way - try not to sit next to the clutch in.

They are the best suggestions I can come up with of.
