Questions: Is it true that you can extend the life of view batteries by pulling the stem out so the study is not running? I have hear yes and no answers to this question and cannot find a definitive answer.

The power consumed by your keep under surveillance is so low that I don't feel it is worth the challenge of removing the battery to prolong its natural life. Also, depending on the quality of the mobile, it has a set shelf life during which time it will self discharge.
If you hold a flat watch freestyle and you can't get one readily you can bring some extra life from it by VERY BRIEFLY applying a few pulses of current to it by connecting it to another battery(eg 12V ), plus to plus and minus to minus. The scrutinize battery may attain warm but DON'T allow it to gain hot. Allow it to cool before you apply it to the view again and if you have a multi-meter check its voltage. It should be close to the nominal voltage. Clean the battery-operated by breathing on it and wiping it beside a clean tissue. Persperation can produce corrosion of the battery but even worse on the contacts surrounded by the watch.
